• Viscose shrunk – what now? Unfortunately, this can happen quickly if the care instructions are ignored. Once shrunk, viscose rarely returns fully to its original shape. Prevention is therefore key: always wash at low temperatures, never tumble dry and, when in doubt, hand wash instead.
• Drying: avoid tumble drying. Heat can cause viscose to shrink or lose its shape. It is best to reshape the garment gently and allow it to air-dry on a hanger.
• Ironing: if creases appear, simply iron the garment slightly damp and inside out, using the temperature recommended on the care label. Better still: use a steamer. It smooths the fabric gently and quickly without damaging the fibres.
